President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has reaffirmed Egypt’s unequivocal support for Kuwait’s sovereignty and security.
The president received the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Cairo on Sunday.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati and Kuwait’s Ambassador in Cairo Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanem attended the meeting.
As the meeting started, President Sisi conveyed his greetings to Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, lauding the deep-rooted historical ties and strong fraternal relations binding the two countries, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said.
President Sisi underscored Egypt’s firm rejection of any infringement on Kuwait’s sovereignty, or any Arab state. He stressed Cairo’s full backing for Kuwait’s security and stability, as well as any measures to safeguard national resources. The president also reasserted that the security of Kuwait and other Arab nations is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
The president also highlighted the importance of boostingbilateral relations across various fields, notably in trade and investment, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both nations.
Sisi referred to the remarkable progress achieved in Egyptian-Kuwaiti relations over the recent years, calling for building on this momentum to reach broader horizons, the presidency spokesman said.
For his part, Sheikh Jarrah conveyed to President Sisigreetings and appreciation of the Emir of Kuwait, reaffirming his country’s pride in the steady development of bilateral ties.
He also commended Egypt’s longstanding support for Kuwait’s security, sovereignty and stability, as well as its consistent backing of Gulf security.
The Kuwaiti chief diplomat voiced his country’s hopes to intensify consultation and coordination with Egypt, for preserving regional peace and stability , and safeguarding the security of Arab states.
