President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability, stressing Cairo’s rejection of any violations against Lebanese territory or threats to its national institutions.

This reaffirmation was made during a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun late on Saturday.

During the call, President Sisi welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, praising the efforts undertaken by the Lebanese state to extend the authority of its national institutions across the entire country. He also commended ongoing initiatives aimed at restoring security and ensuring the sustainability of the ceasefire, Presidency Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy said.

The Egyptian president further outlined Egypt’s continued efforts to support Lebanon and to help shield it from regional tensions and crises, underlining Cairo’s firm condemnation of any aggression against Lebanon’s sovereignty or the safety of its people and resources.

For his part, President Aoun expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s consistent solidarity with Lebanon and its steadfast support for the Lebanese people, thanking President Sisi for Egypt’s continued engagement.

He also reviewed developments in ongoing direct negotiations conducted under US sponsorship. Aoun reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to achieving a just and sustainable settlement that preserves the country’s sovereignty, security, unity, and territorial integrity.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination and enhancing communication between Egypt and Lebanon in the period ahead.
