CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday issued instructions to officials to continue efforts of developing Egypt’s ports network, in line with state’s strategy to utilise the infrastructure established over the past years, in a way that boosts the state’s full capacities and creates more job opportunities for people.
This came during a meeting between the president and Minister of Transport Kamel el-Wazir, Commander of the Navy Vice-Admiral Ashraf Atwa and a number of top-brass commanders.
President Sisi was briefed on progress achieved in the establishment, upgrading and operation of ports across the state, in light of their vital role in all sectors of the state, as well as their role in reinforcing Egypt’s status as a regional and global hub for maritime transport, logistics and transit trade, according to Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
