President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby discussed on Tuesday, ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi, President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to continue promoting ties across the political, economic, trade and development sectors, in a manner that would reinforce the historic bonds between the two brotherly peoples and meet their aspirations for development, prosperity and growth, Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said.

President Sisi also stressed the importance of building on the positive outcomes of the Egyptian-Chadian joint committee meetings held in Cairo in November 2025.

For his part, President Déby expressed appreciation for the close relations with Egypt, reaffirming his commitment to deepening bilateral co-operation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, alongside infrastructure development and advancing comprehensive development efforts, Spokesman El-Shennawy added.

President Déby also praised the existing co-operation with Egypt in the healthcare sector.

The two leaders also exchanged of views on the latest regional developments of mutual concern, as President Sisi stressed the need to preserve national institutions in the region and strengthen their role in confronting the threats they face.

They discussed ways to resolve regional crises through peaceful means in order to safeguard the sovereignty of regional states and preserve the resources and interests of their peoples, the presidential spokesman said.
