President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed today that Egypt’s remains steadfast in supporting its Arab and regional partners and will continue to reject any acts of aggression that threaten peace and stability.

Speaking during the annual Iftar banquet hosted by the Armed Forces, marking the commemoration of the 10th of Ramadan victories, President Sisi emphasised Egypt’s commitment to regional de-escalation and constructive mediation.

”Developments have occurred rapidly. Egypt has emphasised de-escalation, calm, and the hope of halting hostilities, even while acknowledging the challenges of achieving this.

”As a regional nation, we are deeply affected. I have engaged with our Gulf partners and other Arab states to reaffirm Egypt’s rejection of aggression and our unwavering support for our brothers,” Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy quoted President Sisi as saying in a statement.

He added: “Over the past months, Egypt has made sincere efforts to mediate between key international parties, including the United States and Iran, to prevent escalation. Wars carry serious humanitarian, economic, and strategic consequences, not only for the countries directly involved but for the entire region. We act with prudence, aware that mistakes can have far-reaching effects.”

President Sisi also addressed Egypt’s domestic preparedness, noting that the government is carefully monitoring the economic and strategic impacts of regional crises, including shipping through the Suez Canal and the Strait of Hormuz.

“To the Egyptian people: there is no cause for alarm. Our focus remains on stability and resilience. Despite global and regional challenges — the pandemic, the Ukraine war, the Gaza conflict, and now the crisis in Iran — Egypt remains steadfast,” he affirmed.

The president concluded: “Unity between the state and the people is essential. Stability, resilience, and patience are key to Egypt’s achievements. With God’s guidance and your continued commitment, we will overcome challenges responsibly. Egypt is strong, secure, and protected, and no force can harm this nation.”

Speakers of the House and Senate, the prime minister, top military commanders, Pope Tawadros II, ministers, governors, senior state officials, and students from the Egyptian Military Academy attended the Iftar banquet.
