Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the government to continue to implement various projects related to the protection of beaches throughout the state in accordance with the highest environmental and engineering standards, while scrutinising studies related to addressing the phenomenon of beach erosion, in order to preserve lands, facilities and investments based on the coasts.
President Sisi made these remarks as he received on Thursday Vice Admiral Ahmed Khaled, Commander of the Navy, Major General Ihab el-Far, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, Rear Admiral Mohamed Fikri, Assistant Commander of the Naval Forces for Engineering Affairs, and Rear Admiral Dr Ashraf El-Assal, Head of the Naval Survey Division, Colonel Muhammad Al-Makhzanji of the Naval Forces Command, and Dr Hassan Abu Saada, Engineering Adviser to the Naval Forces Command, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said in a statement.
He added that the president was briefed, during the meeting, on the executive situation of projects to develop and protect the Egyptian coastal beaches, especially on the Mediterranean Sea.
