ALEXANDRIA- The port of Alexandria has seen remarkable activities in terms of the maritime traffic and cargo handling over the past 48 hours with a total of 250,000 tonnes of goods handled.
In a statement on Sunday, Spokesman for Alexandria Port Authority Ahmed Breqaa said that 48 ships have arrived and left the harbour.
A total of 33 container ships, oil tankers and cargo vessels are proceeding with the loading and unloading operations at the Alexandria and Dekheila ports, read the statement.
Chairman of Alexandria Port Authority Tareq Shahin stressed the importance of taking all security and safety procedures as well as anti-coronavirus measures at the port, the statement said.
