CAIRO – Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese celebrated on Thursday the tenth anniversary of the departure of Pope Shenouda, the 117th patriarch of the Coptic Church.
The celebration took place at Abbasiya’s Cathedral of St. Mark Diocese, where prayers were led by Pope Tawadros II in the presence of top church clergymen and monks.
Pope Shenouda was the 117th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark. His episcopate lasted 40 years, 4 months, and 4 days from November 14, 1971 until his death on March 17, 2012.
