Yesterday was a busy news day, in top of which were Sisi’s reiteration to helping South Sudan, Police reshuffle and National Team qualification to quarterfinals of men’s Olympic soccer tournament

 

 

 

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that national armies represent the backbone for guaranteeing cohesion and stability of states. Sisi statements came as he received Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Joseph Aoun on Wednesday.

 

 

Also on Wednesday, President Sisi reiterated during a meeting with South Sudan Vice President James Wani Igga Egypt’s endeavor to continue to provide technical support to South Sudan at all levels, to enable it to benefit from the Egyptian expertise.

 

 

Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik approved on Wednesday the annual police reshuffle that saw major changes, including a number of interior minister aides, security chiefs, directors of public departments and administrations, among others.

 

 

Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el-Saeed said on Wednesday that Egypt ranks 36 out of 165 in the International Spillover Index with a score of 98.7 out of 100.

 

 

A Cairo court on Wednesday adjourned till September 26 the trial of 22 defendants, including ten being held, over joining Daesh terrorist group in Giza’s district of Omraneya in a case dubbed in the media the “Daesh Omraneya”.

 

 

Egypt Olympic Football Team advanced to the quarterfinals of the men’s Olympic soccer tournament with a 2-0 victory over Australia on Wednesday. Argentina was even on points with Egypt, but the National team claimed second place in Group C on goal difference.

 

 

The Russian-Islamic world summit (Kazan Summit 2021) kicked off in Moscow on Wednesday to discuss cooperation between Russia and Islamic countries.

 

 

Ethiopia’s Somali region said on Wednesday a vital road and rail trade route linking the landlocked capital of Addis Ababa to the sea port of Djibouti was blocked by youths angered by a deadly militia attack on their region. Reuters
