ACCRA – Achieving integration and unity among all Arab countries is the only way to confront current regional challenges, said Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Monday.

The premier made the remarks during a meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui and President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo on the sidelines of the Sixth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union (AU), which kicked off in Ghana’s capital, Accra, on Sunday.

Madbouli is taking part on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the event, which is attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty as well as Egypt ‘s Ambassador to Ghana Ayman el Dosoqi Youssef.

Madboli affirmed the strength of brotherly ties between Egypt and Algeria, the strong historic ties between the two sisterly nations, along with profound relations between the political leaderships of the two countries.

He said that he is looking forward to a visit by the the Algerian prime minister to Egypt throughout the coming period for fruitful discussions on files of shared interest. 

Besides political coordination, economic cooperation between Egypt and Algeria should be promoted, in light of the current international developments, Madbouli said.

He expressed desire for boosting bilateral relations between the two countries and elevating them to the level of strategic relations.

Meanwhile, Larbaoui congrated Madbouli on the formation of the new Egyptian government.

Larbaoui conveyed greetings of Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to president Sisi. 

The Algerian prime minister underscored the strength of brotherly relations between Egypt and Algeria.

He affirmed the significance of promoting bilateral relations, in light of the historic ties between Egypt and Algeria as well as the pivotal regional and international roles of both countries. 

Larbaoui underscored the importance of expanding frameworks of co-operation between Egypt and Algeria, amid the current regional and global developments and their impact on all countries. 

The Algerian prime minister underscored the importance of co-operation with Egypt for the benefit of resolving regional crises, in particular the war in the Gaza Strip and conflicts in Libya and Sudan.

Larbaoui highlighted the key role of both Egypt and Algeria toward supporting stability in Libya through the neighboring countries mechanism. 

Madbouli and Larbaoui agreed on convening the joint committee during Q4 of the current year 2024, according to Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el Homosany. 

During his meeting with Ghana’s president, Madbouli affirmed the depth of time-honored relations between Egypt and Ghana since the stage of national liberation. He asserted close ties between the political leaderships of the two friendly nations.

The premier emphasized Egypt’s willingness to support Ghana’s needs in various development domains, in addition to promoting effective coordination and consultation between the two countries in several regional issues, in light of Ghana’s crucial role in the West Africa region. 

At the meeting, Madbouli expressed appreciation for the warm welcome on his first visit to the West African country. He conveyed the greetings of president Sisi to Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Madbouli conveyed president Sisi’s major support to Ghana’s efforts and its effective role at the levels of the West Africa region and the continent. 

The premier said that 24 Egyptian firms are operating in various fields in Ghana, noting that he is looking forward to utilize promising opportunities to develop relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the president of Ghana underlined the strength of relations with Egypt. Akufo-Addo said that he is looking forward to promoting relations between Egypt and Ghana in all domains.

He further shed light on the crucial role of Egyptian companies operating in the domains of mining, infrastructure and construction in the West African country.

President Akufo-Addo, also, expressed appreciation for the contributions of Egyptian firms operating in the development fields in Ghana.
