Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the State seeks to optimize the use of mineral wealth, as part of the State’s strategy to benefit from available natural resources in Egypt for increasing the national income.
Madbouli’s comments came during his meeting on Thursday with Public Business Sector Minister Mahmoud Esmat, in the presence of Chairman of the Egyptian Company for Mining, Management and Exploitation of Quarries and Salines Abdel Salam Shafiq.
On his part, Shafiq briefed the premier on a number of studies on how to make the best use of different natural resources.
In this regard, Shafiq reviewed a study on how to maximize the benefit from tantalum ore, which is one of rare earth elements extracted from apogranites.
Tantalum is characterized by high melting and high resistance to erosion.
At the end of the meeting, the prime minister issued directives for completing negotiations with local and global companies that are interested in extracting Tantalum.
