Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review a proposal by Indorama Corporation on establishing two factories of phosphate fertilizers and mineral silicon for manufacturing solar panels.
The meeting was attended by Ministers Tarek Mulla of Petroleum, Hala Said of Planning, and Ahmed Samir of Trade and Industry alongside other senior officials.
The international company seeks to inject about dlrs 700 million into these factories, the planning minister said.
The petroleum minister said there is a chance for partnership with the international group, noting that the raw materials for the two factories are available.
The premier called on the ministries concerned to swiftly examine investment requests and available partnership opportunities.
He also directed to swiftly prepare draft laws and decisions for implementing the president’s recent directives on offering a package of incentives for targeted industries in order to be reviewed by the cabinet, then referred to the parliament.
