Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Monday reviewed the implementation status of the 1st phase of the presidential “Haya Karima” (Decent Life) initiative and preparations for the launch of its second phase, during a meeting that was attended by Presidential Adviser for the initiative Mohamed Farid Hegazy, and Director of Dar Al-Handasah -project consultant- Ahmed Abdelazim.

The meeting is part of regular follow-up on the remaining works under the first phase, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah ElSisi to remove obstacles, accelerate completion rates, and ensure the prompt delivery and operation of projects, while adhering to quality standards, the premier said.

Madbouly stressed that these efforts are key to achieving the initiative’s unprecedented development goals and improving the quality of life for millions of Egyptians living in the countryside.

The prime minister noted that ongoing coordination among ministries and relevant authorities aims to expedite the handover and operation of completed projects.

He revealed that preparations are underway for the launch of the initiative’s second phase to extend development to additional villages nationwide.

He highlighted the tangible social and economic impact of the initiative in rural areas, citing marked improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, social services, and job creation.

For his part, Director of Dar Al-Handasah Ahmed Abdelazim  elaborated that the  1st phase includes around 27,332 projects across 1,477 villages in 20 governorates. About 22,204 projects have been completed, with nearly 16,815 already handed over for operation.

He further noted that the 2ndphase is set to cover around 1,667 villages in 20 governorates, with some 14,500 projects planned across priority sectors including sanitation, drinking water, schools, natural gas, roads, and treatment plants.
