Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting on Monday in New Alamein to follow up on the implementation of the presidential initiative Decent Life for rural development. The session focused on completing outstanding works in Phase One and coordinating readiness for phase two.

The prime minister stressed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi closely follows the progress of this national project, given its transformative impact on rural Egypt and its role in improving services and living standards.

Reports showed that phase one covers 1,477 villages, with 23,741 projects implemented so far. Of these, 18,195 have been delivered for operation, benefiting citizens directly. Between July 12 and August 24, works were completed in 57 villages, bringing the total of fully finished villages to 907.

Preparations for phase two were also reviewed, with emphasis on maximising lessons learned from phase one , ensuring strong inter-agency coordination, and optimising investment to expand the initiative’s reach.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Minister of Transport Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa El-Menshawy, Deputy Minister of Housing for Utilities Ahmed Omran, Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendy, and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom, alongside senior officials and project consultants.

This update underscores Egypt’s commitment to rural development, service delivery, and sustainable infrastructure through the national Decent Life programme.
