Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday to review preparations for hosting a dedicated business meeting in Cairo in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF) next November.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid.

At the outset of the meeting, the prime minister stressed the significance of hosting the event, describing it as the first of its kind in Egypt and the Middle East.

Unlike previous regional conferences, the meeting will focus exclusively on the host country and its priorities.

He noted that the WEF began organising dedicated business meetings of this nature across several countries in 2024, with Cairo selected to host the upcoming edition.

For his part, Abdelatty said more than 50 senior executives from major international companies partnering with the WEF are expected to participate, alongside representatives of successful Egyptian companies from diverse sectors.

He explained that the initiative followed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s participation in the WEF Annual Meeting in January 2026.

The meeting will focus on the outlook for the Egyptian economy, investment opportunities and Egypt’s regional economic role as a hub for trade, logistics and energy.

Abdelatty added that dedicated business meetings provide a platform for dialogue between governments and leading global businesses, with agendas tailored to the host country’s national priorities and specific needs.

He also reviewed the measures taken in coordination with the WEF to prepare for the event.

Minister Farid, meanwhile, underlined the importance of using the meeting to highlight Egypt’s assets and investment opportunities across key sectors.

He stressed the value of attracting major investors and representatives of leading investment funds, and prominent international economic media outlets, to broaden exposure to Egypt’s investment potential.

In conclusion, PM Madbouly directed the formation of a working group comprising representatives from the Cabinet, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Investment, and relevant authorities.

The group will oversee organisational and logistical arrangements and take all necessary measures to ensure comprehensive preparations and achieve the meeting’s objectives.
