Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli met on Tuesday Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid to discuss the role of Egypt’s Sovereign Fund in maximising returns from state assets. The meeting was attended by Fund CEO Noha Khalil and senior officials.
During the meeting, Madbouli stressed the government’s priority of turning underutilised resources into sustainable development opportunities through the Fund, positioning Egypt as a regional hub for foreign investment. He highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships with the private sector to strengthen economic resilience and safeguard future generations.
Farid outlined efforts to modernise the Fund’s operating models, moving beyond traditional asset management towards innovative approaches that create growth engines capable of attracting domestic and international capital. He noted plans to expand abroad via a specialised African investment fund focusing on finance, tourism, health, education and industry.
The meeting reviewed the Fund’s managed assets, land and property portfolio, as well as ongoing projects and future plans. Officials emphasised efficiency in current operations, exploration of new opportunities and diversification of investment models to reinforce economic growth.
The Fund aims to act as a catalyst for investment by adapting tools to market changes, focusing on high‑return sectors with sustainable impact and building a balanced portfolio that supports financial stability.
