CAIRO – Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Tuesday received a report on the progress achieved by “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” presidential initiative throughout the past 100 days.

Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar submitted the report which also tackled the achievements of the initiative between September 17 – December 2024.

Thanks to effective participation and coordination among 32 bodies members of the “Bedaya” initiative, up to 288.190 million services have been provided during 100 days, Abdel Ghaffar said while reviewing the report.

He added that 224.842 million health services were provided nationwide, including conducting 148,819 surgical operations for waiting lists, with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) contributing to a total of 14,072 operations.

As many as 1,525 medical convoys were dispatched, providing 1.587 services, according to the report.

It showed that the infrastructure of university hospitals in various governorates was supported with several medical equipment to enhance the quality of medical services provided to citizens.

Madbouli said that “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” presidential initiative underscores state’s commitment to building the Egyptian individual and a decent life for all citizens, across health, education, culture, sports, job creation, and engaging community members in decision-making processes.

It aims to ensure that all citizens benefit from the nation’s resources fairly and effectively, promoting social justice and sustainable development across Egypt, the cabinet explained.

Its main goals include preserving Egypt’s national security and foreign policy, building human capacity and boosting welfare, creating a competitive economy attractive to investment, and establishing political stability and national cohesion.

It will also focus on empowering women and youth and equipping them with the skills needed in the market.

Bedaya aligns with Egypt Vision 2030, the National Dialogue’s outcomes, and the government’s work program.
