Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly opened on Thursday the main “Ahlan Madaris” (Welcome Schools) exhibition in Giza, held at the Mills grounds in Talbiya district, King Faisal Street.
The initiative reflects the state’s efforts to expand fairs that provide families with affordable school supplies and essential goods ahead of the new academic year, in line with President ElSisi’s directives to ease household burdens, Madbouly said.
The “Ahlan Madaris” fairs embody cooperation between government bodies, the private sector and chambers of commerce, ensuring quality products at competitive prices, he stressed.
Madbouly inaugurated more than 20 additional fairs across Giza via video conference, extending access to discounted goods to residents in different districts.
He toured several pavilions, reviewed products and discount rates, and emphasised the importance of maintaining supply and quality throughout the exhibition period.
The main fair covers 1,800 square metres, offering school supplies and food products with discounts up to 25 per cent, Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, Sherfi Farouk explained.
The Talbiya venue hosts 65 pavilions and will remain open daily until 25 September from 11 a.m. to midnight.
The expansion of fairs across the governorate reflects the ministry’s commitment to making affordable goods widely available, he noted.
The initiative is organised in co-operation with the Supply Ministry, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, local chambers and participating companies, aiming to support families, boost competition and ensure products are offered at fair prices.
