Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli met on Monday with Christophe Périllat, CEO of French automotive technology giant Valeo, at the government headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. The meeting, attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi and ITIDA CEO Ahmed El-Zaher, highlighted Valeo’s announcement of a new research and development center in Egypt dedicated to artificial intelligence applications.
Madbouli welcomed the delegation, praising the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Communications and Valeo, and emphasized Egypt’s commitment to advancing its ICT sector. He lauded the company’s decision to establish one of its most prominent global R&D hubs in Egypt, stressing the government’s full support and its confidence in Egyptian engineers and innovators.
Valeo’s CEO confirmed that the new center will rely on Egyptian talent, starting with 35 engineers and expanding to over 100 specialists. The center will focus on accelerating AI integration across Valeo’s global operations and developing next-generation smart mobility solutions. Minister Hindi described the initiative as a milestone that strengthens Egypt’s position as a regional technology hub and a destination for global software investment.
The partnership, which spans two decades, was reaffirmed by ITIDA’s CEO, who pledged continued support for Valeo’s expansion in Egypt. At the close of the meeting, Madbouli expressed his intention to visit the new facility soon, accepting Valeo’s invitation to tour the center.
