Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has stressed the government’s efforts to create an attractive and stable investment climate for foreign direct investment, remove procedural and regulatory obstacles facing businesses, and boost domestic manufacturing.
Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting on Sunday with Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk and Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid.
At the outset of the meeting, the prime minister said boosting domestic production, deepening manufacturing and expanding exports remained among the government’s top priorities.
He stressed the importance of creating a competitive and stable environment for foreign direct investment and addressing procedural and regulatory challenges facing the business community. Such efforts, he said, would support the localisation of strategic industries and maximise value added in the national economy.
Madbouly said empowering the private sector and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in regional and international markets were essential to achieving the country’s export targets and reaching unprecedented levels of export performance.
During the meeting, Farid presented a comprehensive report on Egypt’s non-oil exports and imports from January 2022 to August 2026.
He highlighted the notable improvement in the trade balance in 2025 compared with the previous year, driven by positive growth in non-oil exports across various sectors and product categories.
The minister also presented a roadmap for Egypt’s export development strategy, built around an integrated set of priorities aimed at bringing about a qualitative transformation in the national export system and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian goods and products in overseas markets.
