Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired a high-level meeting on Thursday to review progress on a number of projects included in Giza Governorate’s investment plan, as part of the state’s efforts to accelerate development projects and improve services provided to citizens.

Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Giza Governor Ahmed Al-Ansari, Assistant Adviser to the President for Planning and Development Major General Ahmed Hesham Fadel, and Director of the Licensing Department at the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Mohamed El-Gedawy attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Al-Ansari reviewed the implementation status of several strategic projects being carried out across the governorate.

These include the development of the Abu Rawash Industrial Zone, the upgrading of the area surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum, road paving works, improvements to the local road network, the modernisation of administrative buildings, traffic management projects, and initiatives aimed at environmental improvement and local economic development, Cabinet Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Homosany said in a statement.

The governor also presented updates on efforts to reconcile building violations, legalise the status of state-owned land, and licence public establishments.

In this regard, he outlined measures taken to facilitate procedures for citizens and accelerate the completion of these files in line with state directives aimed at achieving legal stability and improving public services.

Al-Ansari noted that between May 2024 and mid-June 2026, the governorate had received 206,305 applications for the reconciliation of building violations, of which 201,825 had been processed, representing a completion rate of more than 97 per cent.

Work is continuing to finalise the remaining cases.

The meeting also reviewed the governorate’s efforts under the 29th wave of campaigns to remove encroachments on state-owned and agricultural land, as well as illegal constructions.

Participants discussed the results of these campaigns and measures to address any new violations immediately, in co-ordination with the relevant authorities and security agencies, to safeguard state assets and enforce the law.
