PM chairs meeting of Council of Governors to discuss preparations for start of new school year

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli extended his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Armed Forces and all Egyptians on the occasion of El-Mawled El-Nabawi (Prophet Mohammed’s birthday celebrations) and the 50th anniversary of October War victory, wishing Egypt to be always blessed with happiness and goodness.

This came as he presided over a meeting of the Council of Governors which was attended by Justice Minister Omar Marwan and Local Development Minister Hisham Amna to follow up a number of important domestic files.

He praised a new package of measures announced by the president last week to improve the socioeconomic conditions in the country and alleviate the burdens of cost-of-living challenges which the Egyptian families have to endure as a result of the impact of a global polycrisis.

He asserted during the meeting the importance of the constant follow up of ongoing preparations for the start of a new academic year, to provide a favorable educational environment for students.

He said that as part of back-to-school preparations, it is imperative to ensure that maintenance and renovation work at all schools are finished before the beginning of the school year, asking governors to coordinate with the education ministry to address any problems on that score.

The premier underlined the importance of the back-to-school fairs that have been opened in all parts of the country recently to offer high-quality school and educational supplies to children at affordable prices.

The meeting took up a propoded reconciliation law regarding building violations and efforts to ensure that building codes are no longer violated in the future and that measures to stop encroachments on stated-owned lands and public property are promptly and effectively implemented.

Talks also covered the power shedding measures that have been applied nationwide since the beginning of the summer, the operation of national safety centers and government service complexes as well as technical and logistics arrangements for the upcoming presidential election.
