Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed has greeted Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese on Eastern Christmas.
The move came as Minister el-Saeed visited the Papal headquarters in Cairo on Friday.
The minister stressed that Egypt enjoys national unity among all heavenly religions.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Alaa Eddin Fouad also paid a visit to the Papal headquarters at the Coptic Cathedral in Abbasia late Thursday to extend congratulations to Pope Tawadros II on the occasion of Christmas.
During the visit, Fouad highlighted the unique historical unity and strong cohesion of the Egyptian fabric throughout the ages, emphasising the esteemed status of the Egyptian Church among global churches and its national, social, and humanitarian role.
The minister also underscored his appreciation for Pope Tawadros II as a prominent Egyptian figure known for his honorable national stances.
He commended the Pope’s dedication to spreading a culture of tolerance, love, cohesion, and unity among the nation’s citizens. He prayed for the well-being of Egypt, its people, and leadership under the banner of peace, security, and prosperity and under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Head of the National Media Authority Hussein Zein has greeted Pope Tawadros II on Eastern Christmas.
Zein also offered greetings to all Egyptian Copts on the occasion.
The top media official wished Egypt further security, peace and stability.
