Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom said field monitoring of development projects and close coordination with governorates have become a strategic priority for the ministry to ensure the effective implementation of Egypt’s economic and social development plan under the public investment governance framework.

Speaking during an inspection tour of Beheira Governorate on Tuesday alongside Governor Jacqueline Azar, Rostom said regular site visits enable the ministry to closely track project implementation, assess their impact on citizens’ quality of life and swiftly address any challenges that may arise during execution.

The visit covered development projects with total investments of around LE4.8 billion across key sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, human development and agriculture. The visit is part of the government’s broader efforts to localise development and improve the quality of public services nationwide.

During the tour, Rostom and Azar inspected the redevelopment of the Railway Station Square, the University Hospital building, the One-Day Services Building and the Faculty of Medicine building, all of which form part of an integrated programme to strengthen Beheira’s infrastructure and expand access to essential public services.

The visit is part of a nationwide series of field tours undertaken by the minister to monitor progress on projects included in the 2025/2026 public investment plan.
