Petroleum Ministry: PETROJET signed contracts worth LE139b in 2023

The Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry said Friday that the Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company PETROJET managed to seal contracts worth LE139 billion in 2023.

The company’s activity revenues reached LE6.54 billion in 2023, with an increase of 36% over its revenues in 2022, the ministry said.

The company achieved an unprecedented volume of new contracts and grants worth LE139 billion pounds in 2023, with an increase of 12% over the volume of contracts in 2022, it added.

During the general assembly’s meeting, Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla said that the petroleum sector has a strong entity that represents a strong executive arm due to its capabilities, vision, leadership, and cadres that make it a key supporter in expediting the implementation of projects, according to the statement.

For his part, the company’s head, Walid Lotfy, said that the company’s contracts in the petroleum and non-petroleum domains in 2023 include projects inside Egypt by 74% and contracts outside Egypt by 26%.

The most important projects, which have been implemented in Egypt in 2023, included the “Mleiha II” gas station project in the “Mleiha” development concession in the Western Desert region.

The projects also included a mazut hydrocracking complex project at Al Nasr petroleum refinery in Suez, and the Atmospheric Distillation Unit, also known as Crude Distillation Unit, CDU4 in Assiut, as well as the Middle East oil refinery (MIDOR)refinery expansion and upgrades in Alexandria.
