CAIRO- The Republican People’s Party announced on Sunday its rejection of the joint statement issued by some countries before the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) about human rights in Egypt.
The party said the statement is based on non-neutral information that was taken from specific sources seeking to serve their political agenda, which contradicts the choices of the wide range of Egyptians.
It added that such false statements hinder Egypt’s efforts aimed to achieve further progress in this file, stressing that the Egyptian state strives to preserve human rights without prejudice to the security and safety of its citizens.
The party called on all parties concerned with human rights to carefully review the information before discussing them and not to use it for political purposes.
