Egypt’s House of Representatives Speaker Hanafy el Gebaly asserted that the Palestinian cause will always be prioritized by the Arabs, noting that the Arab group should mobilize intensified action in order to adopt an Arab stance advocating the Palestinian rights.
This came at the coordination consultative meeting of the Arab parliamentary group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) which was chaired by speaker Gebaly.
The consultative meeting was held ahead of 147th General Assembly of the IPU, which is taking place in Angola on October 23-27.
Arab parliamentary delegations taking part in the meeting tackled ways of harmonizing Arab visions and views toward topics at the agenda of the IPU, especially the deteriorated situation in the Palestinian territories.
The meeting adopted a resolution on submitting a request to add an urgent item to the agenda of the 147th IPU General Assembly stipulating the necessity of putting an end to the humanitarian crisis and war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.
