Investigations into the devastating fire that erupted at Abo Sefein Church in Imbaba district in Giza have found no signs of criminal action behind the blaze, the Public Prosecution said on Thursday.

The blaze was caused by a fire in the electric generator after it was operated following a power outage, according to the final investigations launched by the Public Prosecution.

There was also a malfunction in the electrical connections of the generator, which was installed in the church building five years ago, added the Prosecution.

The Prosecution also said it has found no evidence that the fire was deliberate.
