Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa el-Menshawy has announced the launch of a new internal transport system in El Shorouk City, alongside the implementation of a comprehensive roads development plan aimed at improving mobility and quality of life for residents, according to a press statement released by the Ministry of Housing on Tuesday.
The minister said the service has entered full operation under a joint protocol with the Ministry of Transport.
El-Menshawy said the project was the result of sustained co-operation between the two ministries, stressing that access to reliable and dignified transport services is a basic right for Egyptian people.
She added that urban transport remains a top priority for the ministry as part of wider efforts to provide safe and comfortable travel options that ease daily burdens on residents.
The new transport system will improve services across Shorouk City. The expansion plans are already in place to extend coverage to all districts and ensure that residents across the city benefit from the service.
