Egypt’s Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid, and Labour Minister Hassan Raddad inaugurated on Sunday an Investor Services Centre at the Benha Investment Zone in Qalyubia.

The centre is part of the government’s efforts to improve the investment climate, streamline procedures and bring public services closer to businesses.

The new facility brings the total number of Investor Services Centres nationwide to 15 and is expected to serve more than 28,000 companies across Qalyubia, Gharbia and Menoufia governorates.

Farid said the centre reflects the government’s drive to create a more competitive business environment by simplifying procedures, improving the quality of government services and expanding private-sector participation in economic activity.

He said around 26,000 new companies were established between January and June 2026, an increase of 20% from the same period last year, with issued capital reaching about LE97.5 billion. Lower Egypt accounted for around half of all newly established companies during the period.

Farid stressed that localising development remains a key priority for the ministry, which is expanding Investor Services Centres and investment zones nationwide to facilitate the establishment and expansion of businesses.

Raddad said facilitating investor services, providing skilled Egyptian workers and ensuring stable labour relations are key pillars of attracting investment and supporting sustainable business growth.

He added that the Labour Ministry is expanding digital services for work permits for foreign nationals and has strengthened its Central Unit for Facilitating Investors’ Affairs as a direct channel for addressing investors’ requests and resolving challenges related to labour services.

Qalyubia Governor Hossam Abdel Fattah said the centre represents an important step towards bringing government services closer to investors and improving the business environment in the governorate. He called for extending the same integrated service model to industrial zones across Qalyubia.

Mohamed Awad, chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), said the Benha centre forms part of the authority’s plan to expand investment services near economic activity hubs and improve the investor experience by reducing time, effort and costs.

The centre is expected to serve more than 28,000 companies across the three governorates, while also offering a VIP fast-track service to investors from across Egypt.
