Discussing means of boosting military co-operation between UK and France topped the agenda of a high-level meeting on Wednesday.
Commander of the Navy Ashraf Atwa met with British Chief of Defence Staff for the Middle East and Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, and General Gael Diaz de Tuesta, Director for International Development of the Directorate General for Armaments (DGA) in France. They were on a visit to the naval command headquarters in Alexandria. During the meeting, they explored ways to exchange expertise between the Egyptian navy and other friendly countries.
The meeting falls within the framework of the Armed Forces’ keenness on enhancing military co-operation with friendly countries to promote regional security and stability.
Following the meeting, they inspected a number of naval units to stand on up-to-date mechanisms of training and armament of the Egyptian navy in the past period.
