Chairman of the National Press Authority,Engineer Abdel Sadeq Shorbagi, stated that Egypt’s national press institutions are steadily moving toward financial balance. Addressing the House of Representatives’ Committee on Culture and Media, he highlighted significant progress achieved through asset utilization, decisive reforms, and strong cooperation with the Ministry of Finance.
Shorbagi noted that institutions have paid more than 700 million Egyptian pounds in insurance and taxes over the past two years, marking a turning point in their recovery. He emphasized that training programs for journalists and administrators remain a top priority, alongside efforts to regularize temporary staff.
Committee Chair Dr. Tharwat El-Badawi praised Shorbagi’s commitment and the authority’s role in strengthening national journalism, while Shorbagi concluded by thanking committee members and colleagues for their dedicated support.
