The National Media Authority mourned on Thursday Iconic Egyptian radio broadcaster Fadila Tawfiq, better known as Abla Fadila, who died at the age of 93.
She was the first woman to tell children stories on the radio in the early 1960s.
The authority offered its condolences with the family of the deceased and the entire Egyptian media.
Generations of children grew up listening to her daily A Song and a Story program.
In 1966 she became the head of radio’s general programme.
