CAIRO – Nasser Social Bank signed on Thursday a memo of understanding with Zewail City to finance 10 scholarships rewarded for students with outstanding academic results at a total value of 1.2 million pounds.
The move is part of the bank’s efforts to support innovation and scientific research and create a new generation capable of innovation.
It also comes as part of the bank’s commitment to develop human capital and help students get better educational opportunities that qualify them to adapt to rapid changed in labor market.
Social Solidarity Minister Nevine Kabbage, who serves as board chairperson of Nasser Social Bank, said this financial support comes as part of the bank’s strategy to boost universities and scientific research institutions out of its conviction that education is a main pillar of Egypt Vision 2030 and one of the key cornerstones of the country’s overall development plans.
The bank has been offering the 10 scholarships for three years now in addition to opening a 1000-pound bank account for each student.
