Egyptian Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Molla stressed the need of pumping new investments in gas exploration and research activities in order to increase production rates.
Egypt has promising opportunities to discover more petroleum resources, he added during his meeting on Wednesday with officials at Apex International Energy company under its founder Roger Plank.
The meeting was held to probe the company’s activities in its concession area in South East Meleiha in the Western Desert.
Molla, meanwhile, commended the programmes and plans of Apex in Egypt, saying that the company is one of the successful models in the petroleum sphere.
For his part, Plank said that the company will continue its operations in Egypt, pointing out to the company’s plans to dig 15 wells next year.
He also referred to ongoing efforts to encourage the company to increase its exploration activities.
