Egyptian Minister of Oil and Natural Resources Tarek El Molla asserted that expansion in the establishment of natural gas filling stations is going on to meet the local growth of consumption.
The minister’s remarks were made during his inauguration of an integrated natural gas station in Alexandria. The fuel station, located on Kilo 38 on Alexandria road, is operated by state-owned natural gas company, GASTECH, and Italy’s oil industry company, ENI.
Molla was accompanied by Alexandria Governor Mohamed Al Sharif.
In statements, Molla said natural gas has a variety of privileges, in addition to its low cost and co-friendly advantages.
He also pointed out to the state’s strategy to expand in the transformation of vehicles to operate with natural gas with the aim of reducing fuel emissions, praising the role of Egypt GAS company to expedite the establishment of natural gas stations across the nation.
The capacity of the newly-established station is 1,600 cubic metres of natural gas, which can supply 2,000 vehicles daily. It also provides the public with 92, and 95 octane gasoline and diesel, in addition to other car services.
With the inauguration of this integrated station, the number of natural gas fueling in stations operated by GASTECH reached to 335 in 25 governoates across the country.
