President of Libya’s High Council of State Khaled al-Mishri thanked Egypt for helping his country reach a clear constitutional base for holding presidential and parliamentary elections.
Addressing a joint press conference at the premises of the House of Representatives in Cairo on Thursday, Mishri said Libya reached a clear-cut constitutional document through committees that met in Cairo and Hurghada over more than one year.
The committees could not meet in Libya amid severe differences in the country, he added.
Mishri said “thanks to the Egyptian care, the car is now on the right track.”
All obstacles will be removed, according to him.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafi Gebali and Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aguila Saleh were present.
