Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag was in Luxor on Wednesday for talks with Governor of Luxor Moustafa Elham to review social protection projects within the governorate.
The two officials visited the village of Al-Farsiyya in Esna for the inauguration of the village by Sonna’a Al-Khair Foundation for Development and E-Finance for Financial and Digital Investments since its redevelopment .
This was part of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action to implement the presidential rural development initiative Decent Life.
The development work of Al-Farsiyya Village came within a co-operation protocol signed by Sonna’a Al-Khair Foundation for Development and E-Finance for Financial and Digital Investments.
During the visit, the Minister of Social Solidarity inspected renovated houses and handed over the keys to their owners. Micro-projects in fishing were also handed over by the minister.
The minister also heard about the work of the medical convoy that gave eye examinations and performed eye operations under the Your Eyes in Our Eyes’ initiative, of which the aims are to improve optical health and prevent blindness free of charge.
The minister praised efforts to redevelop homes and services, stressing the importance of the role of civil society in this regard.
El-Qabbag said her ministry is committed to achieving the goals of Decent Life in education, health and economy, and provide sustainable job opportunities for young people.
