Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Suleiman Gomblat, presented the ministry’s budget plan for fiscal year 2026/2027 before the Defense and National Security Committee of the House of Representatives, chaired by Lt. Gen. Mohamed Abbas Helmy.
Gomblat stressed that the plan aligns financial targets with Egypt’s strategic goals, focusing on deepening local manufacturing, attracting investment, and expanding industrial performance. He noted that Military Production companies have achieved significant progress and aim for further growth, using surplus production capacity to support national projects and meet local market needs.
The minister highlighted that the ministry operates more than 260 production lines with advanced technologies, alongside 12,000 machines and specialized labs. These capabilities have boosted exports and introduced new products for domestic and foreign markets. The ministry targets record export levels by 2028/2029, helping secure foreign currency and strengthen the national economy.
He emphasized investment in human capital through training programs, schools, and the Egyptian Academy for Engineering and Advanced Technology. Committee members praised the ministry’s role in supporting national industry, job creation, and defense capabilities, while commending its outreach to society and cooperation with private and international partners.
