The camp included Egyptian heritage songs, games, contests and various activities aiming to enhance the young’s knowledge of their homeland.

The initiative, sponsored by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, was officially launched in October. The first camp was organised in Austria, then respectively in the UAE, Canada, the US, Germany. Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, England, Australia, France, Belgium, Italy and Poland.

The camps aim to get them introduced to the Egyptian genuine customs and traditions, to help them, strongly hphold their national identity, part of which is speaking Arabic, Makram told the California.

Expat Egyptians are ambassadors for their nation in the host countries, she added.

“When you are young, you can act as an ambassador for your homeland. Being a gallant, an Egyptian offers a good example of Egypt and the Egyptian people,” she said.

In addition, the camp addressed the bravery and the heroism of the Egyptian Army and Police, and sagacity of the political leadership at the face of challenges.

Parents of participant children expressed gratitude to Minister Makram over the “Speak Arabic” initiative, and voiced pleasure to see their kids speak their mother tongue and talk about the well-established customs and traditions at home.
