Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat met with Ahmed Ghoneim, Chairman of AGS Consulting, to discuss cooperation on reducing energy consumption and lowering the carbon footprint across the ministry’s companies and factories. The meeting was held at the ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Minister Gomblat underlined the importance of joint action between the ministry, its affiliated units, and the private sector to protect the environment and address climate change. He emphasized the need for systematic work in measuring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and using detailed reports as tools for decision‑making and improving eco‑friendly industrial performance. He noted that the transition toward a more sustainable, low‑carbon economy is a central goal of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The minister highlighted the development of a “Sustainable Manufacturing” strategy. This plan focuses on reviewing production processes, rationalizing energy use, recycling waste, and adopting environmentally friendly materials to balance economic growth with environmental protection. He also stressed the importance of training staff in military production companies to strengthen their technical and managerial skills, enabling them to study ways of reducing carbon emissions from products and to raise awareness of climate change impacts from industrial activities.
The meeting reflects Egypt’s broader commitment to integrating sustainability into industrial policy, ensuring that production aligns with international environmental standards while supporting national economic objectives.
