Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Soliman Gomblat, has called for accelerating the localisation of advanced technologies, expanding artificial intelligence applications and increasing solar energy manufacturing during an inspection tour on Monday of Benha Electronics Industries Company (Factory 144).
The visit formed part of the ministry’s regular review of affiliated companies to assess production performance, monitor development plans and maximise the use of available industrial capacities in line with the state’s strategy to deepen local manufacturing and strengthen national industrial capabilities.
The minister reviewed the company’s recent performance, co-operation with government entities and partnerships with international firms aimed at transferring and localising advanced technologies, in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to enhance domestic industrial production and improve the competitiveness of Egyptian manufacturing.
During the tour of production lines and technical departments, Gomblat stressed the importance of preventive maintenance, workforce training and adherence to occupational safety standards.
He also instructed the company to prepare a plan to maximise the economic value of underutilised assets.
Highlighting the role of innovation, the minister met with researchers and engineers, describing research and development as a cornerstone of industrial progress. He pledged continued incentives for practical research ideas that improve productivity and efficiency.
Gomblat also directed the company to expand production of solar power units and advanced wireless communication devices for both civilian and military applications, while calling for wider adoption of AI in manufacturing and research to support technology localisation, improve product quality and strengthen Egypt’s industrial competitiveness.
