CAIRO (Egyptian Gazette) – A meeting of the Libyan Joint Military Committee 5 + 5 started in Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Saturday to discuss means of getting foreign mercenaries out of Libya, along with all foreign troops.
Apart from the members of the committee, the special envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Libya, Ján Kubiš, is attending the meeting. Representatives of Libya’s neighboring countries are also attending.
The exit of foreign mercenaries and forces from Libya aims to contribute to advancing the political process in the country.
The meeting coincides with preparations in Libya for holding the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 24, in the light of a roadmap drawn out by the United Nations.
