Writer Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Media met on Tuesday afternoon with the heads of the media authorities to discuss avenues of joint co-operation and to enhance coordination among the bodies concerned with regulating and managing media affairs in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Khaled Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation; Abdel Sadeq El-Shorbagy, Chairman of the National Press Authority; and Ahmed El-Moslemany, Chairman of the National Media Authority.
The meeting examined mechanisms for coordinating efforts among the four bodies in the area of institutional performance development, each within its respective mandate.
This comes in light of the assignments entrusted to the Ministry of State for Media and the competencies of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, the National Press Authority, and the National Media Authority, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the laws governing the work of these entities.
A press statement is expected to be issued at the conclusion of the meeting to announce its outcomes to the public.
