CAIRO – Egyptian Manpower Minister Hassan Shehata announced Monday that start of a vocational test programme between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

The pilot assessment is conducted at a vocational training centre in Boulaq el Dakrour, Shehata said in a statement.

Youth wishing to attain free vocational certificates should apply for the test via the Professional Accreditation Program Portal (PACC), the minister said, noting that the assessments cover the fields of plumbing, electricity, auto mechanics, carpentry and welding.

The certificates will be valid for a five-year term, the minister explained, adding that tests are held on Tuesday and Wednesday every week.

Those craft skills are the most needed in Saudi Arabia, he noted.
