City Edge Developments announced it had contracted with Counsel Masters Company to manage the commercial part of the Mamsha Ahl Misr, a place of entertainment events and activities, eatery outlets, and retail shops on the western banks of the Nile.

Counsel Masters manages the Mamsha for nine years, starting with the completion of the first phase at a length of 1.8km, which overlooks the hotels area between Imbaba Bridge and May 15 Bridge.

Mohamed Mekkawy, CEO of the City Edge Developments, a representative of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), said in a press conference yesterday that signing the contract with Counsel Masters is part of the NUCA’s plane to upgrade the services in Cairo.

The authority assigned the project management to a major company such as Consul Masters, which will implement the latest standards, to provide an interesting experience for Egyptians and foreigners, through the use of major local and international brands, as well as the establishment of entertainment, cultural and seasonal activities.

Council Masters also operates the Ahl Masr Tourist Walk, including commercial, tourist and entertainment activities, and other services such as restaurants, cafés, shops, garages and seating areas for receiving visitors to the walkway.

Mamsha Ahl Misr is a public walkway overlooking the River Nile and open to Egyptian within the state’s plan to develop Cairo and create large public spaces for entertainment, tourism and shopping.

It contains an upper walkway with a width of 4.5 metres, and a lower one with a width of 6.5 metres, and with a total area of 7,066 square metres.

The Mamsha comprises 90 shops, restaurants and cafés, as well as an open theater of 434 square metres, with three stands with a total length of 315 square metres and a capacity for 1,240 visitors. There are also 300 booths for foreign and Arab service and commercial activities.

George Mitri, Chairman of Consul Masters, said this contract is a new step that supports the company’s great expertise in managing such projects, especially since the Mamsha allows the company to showcase its various activities and services in managing all tourists, entertainment and commercial activities.

He added that the Mamsha will become one of the most important tourist attractions in Cairo, in which the historical area is being developed, by providing new destinations that show the eternal beauty of the Nile.
