Madagascar President Mickaël Randrianirina visited the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) on Thursday, accompanied by a high-level delegation and Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk.
The visiting delegation was received by AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif.
The visit aimed to strengthen industrial co-operation and expand intra-African trade.
Discussions focused on leveraging AOI’s advanced manufacturing capabilities to support development projects, as well as the defence and security industries, in Madagascar.
Abdel Latif stressed AOI’s commitment to implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to deepen partnerships across Africa, localise technology and open new export markets throughout the continent.
Randrianirina toured AOI’s product exhibition, expressing admiration for its advanced technologies in armoured vehicles, defence systems, fire engines and ambulances, mobile banking units, medical and electronics industries, renewable energy solutions and solar applications.
He also reaffirmed Madagascar’s keenness to build industrial partnerships with Egypt, describing AOI as the backbone of Egypt’s industrial sector.
The president also conveyed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s leadership in Africa and its efforts to promote development and prosperity across the continent.
He underscored the importance of joint efforts to localise advanced manufacturing technologies and achieve greater industrial integration.
