SHARM EL-SHEIKH – Due to the negative impacts of Covid-19 worldwide, art and culture came to the rescue. The World Youth Forum (WYF) dedicated a session on bringing people together through soft power, regardless of restrictions.

South Korean speaker Yoon Hyesun said, “Culture knows no barrier and its impact cannot be overlooked.”

Yoon is a project manager at Korea University of Education for students from developing countries .

“Despite the challenges facing many countries during this pandemic, art and culture can still help youth to develop their skills,” Yoon said.

“Korean music and drama and culture are popular all over the world,” Yoon added.

“The WYF is a model that other international organisations and governments should aim for as they select and invite certain influential people from all over the world. We can talk and learn from each other. I really appreciate Egyptian government.

“The forum is a wonderful model in terms of using modern technology in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.”

Yoon went on to say that coronavirus was a great shock to culture and art worldwide.

Thanks to her efforts, students had the chance to practise yoga online.

“Due to the pandemic, digital platforms such as Zoom came into their own,” she added.

The session recommended fair but strict laws and rights to preserve digital content on platforms.
