Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Thursday that the government had started two days ago reducing electricity load due to current high temperature in the country that led to an increase in electricity consumption.
The hike of electricity consumption had led to an increase in natural gas consumption, he added.
The premier added the government had started to reduce electricity load in order to normalise the natural gas consumption load.
He also said that reducing electricity load will continue until next week in order to allow the gas grid to return to its ordinary consumption rates.
