New egyptian university graduates can soon receive information technology training from Cisco-Egypt thanks to a co-operation agreement with the government.

Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan yesterday witnessed the signing ceremony of a co-operation agreement between the Ministry of Manpower and Cisco Egypt Company to provide 10,000 IT training grants for fresh university graduates to develop their digital and network design skills.
The agreement stipulates an initiative to speed up digitisation in Egypt by developing the necessary skills through Cisco Networking Academy and meeting the increasing needs of specialists who have skills in network design.
After the ceremony, Saafan spoke of the importance of fruitful co-operation between the ministry and Cisco, calling for a schedule to implement the protocol.

The government is working hard in digitisation, Saafan said, adding that problems to the success of the agreement in reaching the biggest number of trainees must be solved.
The minister gave directives for mobile training units to be deployed in rural areas.
Director General of Cisco Ayman el-Gohar said the company is working on increasing the training and co-operation opportunities with all the ministries, notably the Ministry of Manpower that is responsible for training Egyptian youth in professions needed in the labour market. The protocol targets the training of 10,000 young Egyptians in IT within a year.
